Pathways to Adulthood Independent Living Program

Pathways to Adulthood is a culturally-specific Independent Living Program (ILP) funded by the Department of Human Services (DHS) designed to provide support and assistance to Native American youth ages 14–21 who are currently or who have been in state or tribal foster care systems. Our focus is on creating a vision for the future that is respectful and inclusive of Native American culture and traditions.

The ILP provider meets with youth each month to assist with individual transition goals in regards to education, employment, peer and family support, healthy relationships, housing, health, transportation, parenting skills, and much more. Monthly skills workshops are offered to help teach additional independent living skills.

Youth must be referred by DHS caseworker from within Multnomah, Washington, or Clackamas counties.  NAYA staff can help with this process should you need assistance.
