Green Workforce Academy

The Green Workforce Academy (GWA) is a 5-week paid training opportunity for Black, Indigenous and other adults of color in Portland.

The Green Workforce Academy (GWA) is a 5-week paid training opportunity for Black, Indigenous and other adults of color in Portland. Through classroom learning and hands-on work experience at field sites, you will both learn and share about the environmental issues that impact your communities.

Participants will also learn what they need to know to get green jobs that find and implement solutions to those issues. GWA aims to be a first step to a career that brings financial stability and improves community health and development.

The GWA is operated by Green Workforce Collaborative members, who support and learn from each other, confronting systemic inequities and building economic and environmental justice. NAYA has been in partnership with the Green Workforce Collaborative since 2018.
