NAYA 2023 Year in Review
NAYA serves a large and diverse Native American community–60,000 people representing more than 380 tribes. Each member of our community has a unique pathway to thrive and prosper, and NAYA is dedicated to be in service to all. Here’s a look back at some of our achievements of the past year:
TOGETHER, we continue to provide our community the essential support when they need it the most, ensuring that our youth and families:
- Stay healthy with fresh produce grown in our community garden, which in 2023 providing 8,000 lbs. of beautiful vegetables and traditional foods that were distributed in meals made in our kitchen, in food boxes that went out to the community, and to the community through U-Pick days
- Have a place to call home by helping families purchase their first homes, developing additional affordable housing opportunities at Tistilal Village in North Portland, and helping 33 house less families, (59 youth, and 105 people in total) find homes at our affordable housing developments close to NAYA and our wraparound services
- Can pursue education at all ages with early head start and early childhood programs, our alternative high school, the Many Nations Academy, and connecting youth with their dreams beyond high school at college and career nights
- Find their paths to prosperity with microenterprise programs, small business investments, financial wellness and IDA opportunities
- Engage courageously in civic discourse through advocacy training, eadership development and legislative days of action
We could not do this without your support. TOGETHER, we make a difference for Portland’s Native community. Thank you for investing in NAYA and our wonderful “Return to Neerchokikoo.”
