Comcast Visits NAYA Lift Zones

For more than 20 years, the Native American Youth and Family Center and Comcast have partnered to expand access to the digital world. Since celebrating 20 years of partnership in 2024, we have continued working together to ensure our community has the resources needed to thrive.

Recently, we welcomed the Comcast team to NAYA for a tour of our Comcast Lift Zones. The visit gave us an opportunity to share how these spaces support youth, Elders, families, and community members every day by providing access to technology, educational resources, and workforce development opportunities.

NAYA is home to multiple Comcast Lift Zone locations throughout our campus, creating welcoming spaces where people can access free high-speed Wi-Fi, computers, and digital resources. While many of these resources are integrated into programs like our College & Career services, the Lift Zones are designed to support a wide range of community needs and are available to everyone, not just Native community members. Whether someone is completing schoolwork, applying for a job, accessing online services, or building digital skills, the Lift Zones help remove barriers to technology.

During the tour, our team shared how the Lift Zones are woven into many of NAYA's programs and services. Many Nations Academy students use the spaces to complete homework, research colleges, apply for scholarships, and prepare for life after graduation. Participants in our College & Career program receive support with college applications, financial aid, career exploration, résumé building, and job readiness. Community members also utilize the Lift Zones for workforce training, online job searches, virtual appointments, digital literacy, and accessing essential resources.

The Lift Zones also provide an important resource for Elders and families who need reliable internet access or assistance navigating online services. By expanding access to technology, these spaces help ensure that everyone in our community has the tools they need to pursue education, employment, and personal goals.

We were able to show Comcast firsthand how their investment continues to make a lasting impact. We are grateful to Comcast for their continued partnership and commitment to helping bridge the digital gap. Together, we are expanding access to technology, creating pathways to opportunity, and helping build a stronger future for all who walk through NAYA's doors.
