ECA Students Attend “Bridging The Arts”

bridgingRecently, a few of our Early College Academy students participated in a field trip to the Bridging the Arts event, hosted by Native American Network at Nike Headquarters. NAYA College Prep Specialist Leti Ayala took students who are passionate about fashion, photography, art and entertainment to meet many talented young Native American professionals who have accomplished a lot in careers in these fields. The event hosted a panel of special guest speakers like Gyasi Ross, Anthony “Thosh” Collins, The Baker Twins- Shannon and Shauna Baker and Martin Sensmeier. Their stories were inspiring to our students, focusing on doing what you love and getting a good education. Students also witnessed a first look at fashion lines from designers Bethany Yellowtail, Tierra Tapuro and N7. Overall, it was a great show and some of our student’s even won raffle prizes. We look forward to continuing to expose our youth to more opportunities to get inspired and motivated to pursue their dreams!
