Culture Night and Foster Care Info Session

April 19, 2017 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Double hitter!
Culture Night
In the interest of sustaining cultural education, Culture Night is geared towards families who have an interest in learning more about and reinforcing cultural identity.  This year we will feature guest speakers, regular instructors, and volunteers who will guide community members to explore the many facets of our cultures.  Teachers and volunteers will share their knowledge, techniques and traditions.  By participating in activities such as cooking, games, dancing, singing and crafts, families will have opportunities to learn together and connect with other community members.  This is also a great time for community members to practice their dancing and singing styles.  All ages and levels of knowledge are welcome to attend.  Dinner will be served at 5:30 p.m. and most materials will be provided for beginner projects.  It is recommended that people attend regularly in order to gain better understanding of new concepts or projects.

Foster Care Info Night
This event is in collaboration with Culture Night and is open to anyone interested in learning more about, and becoming a Foster Family in the Portland area. Oregon is currently in a foster home crisis and there are not enough homes for the number of children in State custody. Dinner and childcare will be provided free of charge. No RSVP needed. Contact Lluvia Merello at 503-288-8177 ext. 218 or merellol@nayapdx.org for more information!
