Alby Memorial

From the family:

Frank Secco Alby – Sunrise – February 5, 1936 in Nome, Alaska; Sunset – April 19, 2024, in Portland, Oregon.
He Served as First Sgt – Army, discharged 1975; served in the Army National Reserves, Retired 1996.

He married the love of his life Rosa on September 7, 1957; married 66 years, 7 months and 12 days.

He is survived by his wife Rosa; daughter Margaret Alby; grandson Marlow Little Boy; his faithful companion Wythko, Brother Tony Alby, Sisters Karla Anderson and Karen Riston. He is proceeded in death by granddaughter Haida Little Boy; father Carl Anderson and mother Margaret Secco.

Frank started his career with the Bureau of Indian Affairs around 1977, working in various agencies in the Southwest and the Pacific Northwest.

From there he moved back to Alaska and worked at SEARHC as a Procurement Specialist and retired in 2002. Frank and Rosa returned to Oregon in 2002.

Frank was a Lifetime member of the Alaska Native Brotherhood. He founded the Portland Chapter Columbia River Camp 49 in 2012.

He belonged to the Portland All Nations Canoe Family.

He was a Sundancer at Green Grass, South Dakota, and a Pipe Carrier.

Frank enjoyed doing Karaoke, going to all Native Gatherings, dining with family and friends and taking Wythko to the dog park and out for walks. He was a strong spiritual person in both Native and Christen beliefs.

In 2016 Frank beat Kidney Cancer.

He succumbed to Esophagus/colon cancer April 19, 2024.

Frank’s Legacy will forever be remembered.
