NAYA Business Classes Start Soon

Have a dream of starting your own business? Perhaps you have an idea for a side source of income? NAYA is currently enrolling new participants for our fall Microenterprise class, starting in September and running through November.

Class graduate and business owner of Golden Tradition Saffron Tanya Golden shared her thoughts on the course, stating, “I absolutely am a 100% proponent of the Microenterprise Program at NAYA. The curriculum is structured in a way that walks an entrepreneur through the business development process step by step. The instructors connect participants with available resources, leveraging them into the best possible position for success. Fellow classmates are the community. Being with peers who are in the same position means there is a lot of compassion and support. This is an incredible program that enhances the community by connecting and uplifting individuals and by strengthening that interpersonal bond that is so intrinsic to a healthy, happy, and supportive community.”

NAYA staff share Golden’s sentiments, also noting that the class is more than just about lesson plans. It build a community of encouragement. As NAYA Microenterprise Coach Santiago Vazquez says, “My favorite thing about this job is my clients. It’s humbling and gratifying for me to be able to participate, even minimally, in people’s hopes, dreams, and economic stability. It’s inspiring to witness the courage in Native entrepreneurs, who persevere within a system stacked against them, and an honor to reward that courage by helping to open some doors and provide some support.”
