Ted Wheeler to Emcee Live Auction
NAYA is honored to have Oregon State Treasurer Ted Wheeler as the 2015 NAYA Gala live auction emcee. Ted served as the Chair of the Multnomah County Commission from 2006-2010, was appointed as State Treasurer in 2010, by then Governor Kulongoski, and was elected to a second full term in 2012. Ted cares deeply about Oregon and the state’s financial health, as well as the constituents he serves.
As a member of NAYA’s Board of Trustees, Ted has actively supported Portland’s Native community for more than a decade. His dedication and involvement in issues that affect Native Americans has been notable. NAYA Family Center was one of Ted’s first visits after being sworn in as Multnomah County’s Chair in 2007, when NAYA was still located on N. Mississippi. Ted is comfortable and used to being center stage at our gala as he has been a distinguished guest and live auction emcee in the past. We are excited to have him return and support NAYA with his passion and charismatic personality.
This year’s gala will highlight our region’s most notable artists, performers, and tribal and public leaders. Don’t miss the opportunity to bid on one-of-a-kind art, jewelry, and experience packages, and be a part of the Northwest’s largest Native American Heritage celebration.
