NAYA, Proud Ground Receive Wells Fargo Grant

The Minority Homeownership Assistance Collaborative, of which NAYA is a part, are the recipients of a $100,000 grant from Wells Fargo to support the work of helping increase homeownership in minority communities. Each organization in the Collaborative receives $20,000 to support their efforts at foreclosure prevention, homeowner counseling and preparedness education, financial literacy and more.

The Minority Homeownership Collaborative is made up of Hacienda Community Development Corporation, African American Alliance for Homeownership, Portland Community Reinvestment Initiatives, and NAYA. Proud Ground and NAYA are partners in homeownership programming – Proud Ground offered two workshops at our recent Housing to Homeownership Fair.

“These five groups were chosen for this funding because they have successful histories of helping local families obtain their own homes through building or renovating homes or by providing counseling to the buyers,” said Cobi Jackson, Wells Fargo’s Community Development officer for Oregon and S.W. Washington.
