Join Us For Comcast Cares Day

NAYA is partnered with Comcast for Comcast Cares Day, Saturday, April 25th. We work in partnership with Hands on Greater Portland to mobilize employees, families and friends to revitalize neighborhood parks, beautify schools, stock community food banks, install computer labs at community centers, plant trees, conduct food drives and much more. Join us Saturday, and help strengthen our community. Volunteers will receive a Comcast Cares Day t-shirt and a lunch for helping out.

Last year nearly 2,000 volunteers nationwide participated in Comcast Cares Day. Despite being in the midst of a heavy industrialized area NAYA’s campus features a vast outdoor space with baseball fields, lush gardens, an orchard and shaded grove. Throughout the year volunteers come and help us with gardening activities and outdoor work parties. This year we we hope to host 100 volunteers to support in clearing out our shaded grove area, clearing blackberry bushes, and we’re partnering with Portland Fruit Tree Project to host a fun and informative workshop on orchard care.

Comcast Cares Day is the largest single-day corporate volunteer effort in the country. More than 500,000 volunteers have given more than 3 million hours of service at more than 5,000 project sites in local communities since 2001. The Comcast Foundation has matched the efforts of our Comcast Cares Day volunteers by donating more than $14 million in grants to local partner organizations since 2001.
