Our Feb. 20 playgroup is at St. John's Swap 'n Play! Chxi San is a Chinook Wawa word meaning “new day.” Chxi San is a community-oriented playgroup for parents and their children, pre-birth through age five, that creates a nurturing circle of care through culturally focused, child-centered, and developmentally appropriate play in a structured environment. Class focus: Harmony in Childrearing NAYA is delighted to offer the Positive Indian Parenting class once again. This class series adheres to the widely-acclaimed curriculum developed by the National Indian Child Welfare Association. With focus on Native culture, parenting traditions, and perspectives, this class is open to all parents, grandparents, and caregivers of Native American children. The Pathways Home: Homebuyer Education class takes you through the steps to reach mortgage-readiness and each step of the home buying process. This interactive class uses current, culturally specific information and exercises from Pathways Home: A Native Homeownership Guide (developed by the National American Indian Housing Council, NeighborWorks America and Oweesta).
