Class focus: Traditional Parenting
NAYA is delighted to offer the Positive Indian Parenting class once again. This six-class series adheres to the widely-acclaimed curriculum developed by the National Indian Child Welfare Association.
With focus on Native culture, parenting traditions, and perspectives, this class is open to all parents, grandparents, and caregivers of Native American children.
This course will teach the strengths of historic Indian child-rearing practices and how Native families blend traditional values with contemporary skills. Storytelling, cradleboards, harmony, lessons of nature, behavior management, and the use of praise will be covered.
We especially encourage foster parents of Native children to attend.
The class is FREE. Meals AND CHILDCARE are provided.
