Chxi San Playgroup
January 23 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Our January 23 Chxi San playgroup is a special trip to the Portland Children’s Museum!
Chxi San is a Chinook Wawa word meaning “new day.” Chxi San is a community-oriented playgroup for parents and their children, pre-birth through age five, that creates a nurturing circle of care through culturally focused, child-centered, and developmentally appropriate play in a structured environment.
We welcome and encourage community, elders and kin to join parents and their children in the playgroup. We also provide healthy, nutritious and culturally appropriate snacks during playgroup.
The playgroup is free and open to all.
Public Transportation to Portland Children’s Museum
Take MAX (Light Rail): From downtown Portland, take either the Blue or Red Line west towards Hillsboro. From Hillsboro, take the Blue Line towards Gresham. Get off at the Washington Park MAX Station, then board the elevator to street level. We are directly downhill (south) from the elevator exit, across the parking lot.
Take The Bus: From downtown Portland, take Bus 63 to Washington Park and get off at the Washington Park and MAX Plaza. During the summer months, the Washington Park Shuttle is a convenient way to get to the museum and also explore the attractions in Washington Park.
