NAYA Basketball Newsflash!
The NAYA basketball teams are heading into their last week of the regular season before the tournament March 18/19. Highlights from the last two weeks include the 4th grade girls winning their sixth game in row, and the 7th grade girls playing a game with only five players and winning with one player scoring 17. The high school girls had a two game win streak and nearly pushed it to three games narrowly losing to Grant last week. Two weeks ago the 3rd grade boys got out to a hot start but barely hung on for a 32-30 win over MAC Club after leading the entire game. The 4th quarter belonged to MAC Club as they went on a 10-2 run to get within two points but missed a shot at the buzzer that would have tied the game. The 5th grade boys went 1-1 the last two weeks but won over the opposing crowd during defeat with their all-out effort and one player scoring 27 points. The 7th grade boys continued to play well in close physical games. The 10th grade boys and 12th grade boys are each now 4-4 in very competitive leagues.
