Volunteers Lend a Hand
NAYA is fortunate to have many hardworking volunteers to support in different departments and programming across the organization. After school tutoring, tax assistance, gardening, childcare assistance and kitchen crew members are just a few of the volunteer activities at NAYA Family Center. We want to highlight the talents of our community.
Viktor Kholodynk, one of fourteen tax preparers, who provided support to our community by filing over 400 tax returns during the busy tax season.
Andrew Neal, an ASPIRE mentor, taking our middle and high school students to Portland State University for Go 2 College Day. This event is for Native American and Alaskan Native Middle school students to learn about college. Students were able to tour the campus, learn about student life, and interact with other middle school students from different tribes.
Megan Sierz supported with discussions and curriculum building for the ECA’s Women’s Empowerment Group during advisory period every Wednesday afternoon.
She facilitated The Zine Project , using magazine cutouts to discuss stereotypes around young women’s self esteem and body image.
Our Earth Day event was a huge success! With over 60 volunteers who came out to work in our gardens. It’s summer time. Do you have a green thumb? We would love ongoing support in our gardens!
