Youth Services:

NAYA Family Center provides academic and social opportunities to Grade School, Middle School and High School students to help them reach their full potential through academically rigorous learning opportunities and culturally specific programming.

Individualized Educational Student Advocacy Programming: Helps bring students, parents, family members, educators and service providers together to meet the needs of the Native Children in grades school, middle school and high school through Case Management and Advocacy.  Wrap around services provided by NAYA Family Center to students and families also help ensure students success and family stability.  Assistance with application to various camps, apprenticeships, internships, and college preparation materials are provided to all students, as well as tribal and non tribal scholarships information.  Additional High School Activities include college visitations, life-skills workshops, portfolio and resume workshops, and scholarships/financial aid application assistance.  Weekly High School Nights: provide a sense of community for high school students.  Family Nights: are offered monthly to the youth and families to come to NAYA Family Center for activities.   

Native Clubs:  Are provided to youth in their school settings and available at participating middle schools and high schools.  If interested in starting a Native Club in your school please contact NAYA Family Center.

Prevention/Intervention Outreach Services:  serves youth who struggle to keep their feet on a good, healthy and safe path.  Youth receive support to increase school attendance and enjoy healthy peer and family relationships.  This fosters strength in youth and helps them to avoid possible gang affiliations and police or juvenile crime involvement.  Case management services and outreach to children, their families and other important individuals in their lives are provided.

Learning Center:  Are open afternoons, Monday through Thursday, during the academic year.  Our staff provides help in all academic subjects, as well as GED preparation.  Our networked computer lab allows for individual core curriculum tutoring, other homework help and research projects.  Highly qualified Academic Specialist provides both fun and culturally relevant opportunities to learn. 

Seasonal Programming and Camps:


Summer Institute:   Provides an opportunity for High School Students to earn both High School and College credit by successfully completing math, science, culture, and other college-level courses.  Upon completion of the eight week program, participates will receive a stipend and certificate of achievement.
Math and Science Augmentation Program (MASAP): offers students entering middle school and upper primary grades a 5-week Summer Camp, a 3-day Winter Camp, and Spring Break Camp focusing on math, science and cultural knowledge.  All activities are hands on and field trip based.  These programs are free to qualifying students.

Cultural Arts and Sports Program (CASP):

Cultural Arts Classes:  help pass on the heritage and traditions of our Native people with classes in regalia construction beading, drumming, and Native intertribal dance classes.  Additional monthly cultural classes are offered on a variety of students and parent suggested topics.
Recreational Program:  activities include seasonal sports teams, including, basketball, volleyball, soccer teams, and sport clinics.  All activities emphasize healthy lifestyles, leadership, and environmentalism.
