PYEC Presents: Summer BBQ

July 16, 2018 @ 5:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Update: Due to the heat we have moved the barbecue inside to the NAYA cafeteria.

Please join the Portland Youth and Elders Council as we celebrate all of our hard work for Portland’s Native American Community. Our annual Summer BBQ is an opportunity for us to reflect on our accomplishments while looking ahead to the work that’s coming down the pipeline.

As always we will have great food, wonderful conversations, and plenty of laughs. We will also share some exciting news about the 2018-19 Annual Plan, upcoming meetings, and next steps for NAYA’s Community Engagement Programs. Everyone is welcome!

Portland Youth and Elders Council is a grassroots advocacy group housed at NAYA Family Center, and is open to everyone interested in building a strong civic connection with the local Native American community. Our mission is to strengthen the quality of life for the Portland American Indian and Alaska Native Community by encouraging local leadership, community development, and the practice of culture, values, and traditions.

The purpose of these gathering are:
-Unity: Bring Native American community, families, and organizations together.
-Cross-generational conversation: strengthen ties between youth, adults, and Elders.
-Advocacy: Making Native American issues a priority in our community.
-Learning: Sharing and passing on tradition and history.
